I will finally rid myself of CTVEA. I'm moving back to columbus and I will get to deal with a real cable company. Being with CTVEA has been the worst experience I've ever had with any type of service provider. Their TV service is terrible, their internet service is terrible (switched to dsl) and their customer service is terrible. The only reason I stuck with them is because I love my series 3 Tivo.
I also found out today that to cancel your service with them, you have to bring the equipment back and that only begins the process. Once you bring them the equipment they have 15 days to actually disconnect your service. If that happens to go into the next billing cycle, you get charged for it.
If a real cable company ever made it into Phenix City, CTVEA would be out of buisiness before you could blink.

I hear ya. They are just awful. I switched to DISH and DSL just so I wouldn't have to deal with them anymore. I would have to reset my cable modem at least once a day. And I had the same problem with the billing cycle when I turned them off.
Any idea when DISH will start giving us local channels in the Columbus/Phenix City area?

I just ended my misery with that monopoly of a company. I still haven't figured out how one cable company can rule that entire area. Knology syas its too expensive of a move for them because of the decaying infrastructure. Seems like CTVEA has choke hold on Phenix city. I am going over the air only for now. I alsoed switched to verizons wireless broadband.

well i went ahead and pulled the plug yesterday. I couldn't take them anymore. It seemed every customer in there while i was there was also disgruntled. When I tried to call tuesday to fight their ridiculous 15 day policy, I was told they couldn't talk to me because the acct is in my wifes name and I wasn't listed on the acct. When i asked to speak to a manager the lady told me, "they will just tell you the same thing." That's good customer service. When I asked again she transferred me and the next lady I don't think had any prior knowledge to my issue. She just asked my address, the name on the acct and the security code. Then she asked if i was my wife and when i said yes she did not question it.
