Greetings .... According to this Ledger-Enquirer news article, WTVM's "Big Switch" transition isn't going so smoothly. I am going to wait until they finish up on their transmitter to see if my present antenna (indoor UHF bow-tie mounted in window) can pick up their signal. Thanx-A-Lot, FrankoVideo-09

I am going to wait until they finish up on their transmitter to see if my present antenna (indoor UHF bow-tie mounted in window) can pick up their signal. I'm scared of some of the comments: Contrary to claims made by the satellite companies, the reason Columbus stations are not on satellite is entirely with the satellite companies. Columbus is the only market in Georgia not available on satellite. With Dish Network, that is true, but DirecTV doesn't offer Albany, GA either. However, both companies have new satellites going up late this year, early next which will hopefully change both. Columbus is the last market in the US that does not allow the local channels on satellite. Check directv website, local channels are not available in the viewing area period and never have been with satellite. MANY DMAs have no local channels on satellite... not just Columbus, GA. ~Alan

WTVM was all over the place last weekend; now it is just plain bad, not to mention the fact that they preempted network programming this evening to show some really cheesy 'B' movie.
No matter how many satellites are put up we'll never get locals if the Columbus stations continue to ask an unreasonable price. If I could get the network feeds from NY and LA I'd never watch locals here ever again.

There are MULTIPLE reasons why Columbus may not have locals yet (heck, Dish Network has SD & HD LIL here in the Albany, GA DMA, but DirecTV doesn't have either). ~Alan
