Let's hope WLGA will be carrying the new network, instead of being a cable-only option like the WB is in the Columbus DMA.

I emailed the GM to see how this would affect WLGA? I'll post if i get a response I expect that it's too early to tell for sure what's going to happen since negotiating and contracts will have to be taken care of, but since there isn't an OTA WB affiliate in the Columbus, GA market, WLGA will most likely switch over to The CW Network. However, there's always the chance that WLGA could decide to go Pax, or independent. Thanks for checking this out, Mike! ~Alan

Hopefully WLGA will become an affilitae for "THE CW" Sure would seem foolish for "THE CW" not to choose WLGA considering the reach that they will have...Atlanta to Montgomery, that is an insanely huge area.

While I'm pretty sure that The CW will be interested in WLGA, the question may be whether or not Pappas/WLGA is interested in The CW (read www.satelliteguys.us/showpost.php?p=490435&postcount=40 and www.satelliteguys.us/showpost.php?p=490438&postcount=41 for more details)... since The CW is definately putting some conditions on CW affiliates... which is why people may see some current UPN or WB affiliates go independent... in fact, WGNM, the UPN affiliate out of Macon will be turning into a religous station this Fall... ~Alan

Good articles posted on satteliteguys, but wouldn't it seem silly for WLGA to not want to be an affiliate of a major network? They sure have invested a lot money into the new tower, it would just seem to be a waste.
