I was reading on another forum about the govt wanting to delay the switch again now that we're almost here and someone posted this flowchart. Thought i was rather funny.

The House of Representatives just voted down a bill to postpone the mandatory cutoff date for analog signals to June. Here is a link to the story: apnews1.iwon.com//article/20090128/D960A21G0.htmlBarring any reconsideration by Congress, the digital transition will occur on February 17.

It's expected that they will try again next week. The Senate version allows them to go ahead and shut down analog when they want to even if the date is delayed, but who knows what the bill will look like before it gets to the President, so stations have begun taking this time to inform the FCC that they are shutting down next month regardless. Over 500 stations have already made their intentions known, and more are coming in every day. There is only one Columbus station that I know of who has let the FCC know they're shutting down next month. WLTZ will be shutting off analog next month. Other stations ending analog next month that might be picked up from Columbus, GA are WTVY from Dothan, AL and WPGA from Macon, GA. ~Alan

WLTZ will be shutting off analog next month. WRBL will also be shutting off analog this month regardless of any possible delay. No word yet on WTVM, WXTX, WLGA or any of the GPTV stations. ~Alan

The House approved the bill today. So the delay is on. At least for stations that want to delay i suppose.

WTVM is waiting to see what their options are. Since they are moving to 11, which is now in WXIA in Atlanta, they will have to see what WXIA does. They said they would prefer to shut down early. It seems like it's just a matter of when.

Idiots in Senate, and the idiot in the Executive office, wtf did they need to delay the tranisition for, who the heck are they appealing to? This thing has been delayed enough, if anybody wasn't ready for it, I say tough, this has been planned for years.
What's the chance that it actually happens in June and doesn't get delayed again? I say 50/50.
