Whats up with WSFA moving to VHF? Anyone have suggestions on a good UHF/VHF antenna. I currently have a CM 4228 and live in Auburn. The CM works good now, but I would like to watch WSFA along with the Columbus stations. Also, anyone heard if other channels will be moving to VHF?
Thanks,
-D

Sorry, no real suggestions on a good antenna yet, but plan on getting one, as there will be more in the area on VHF. WTVM is going to Channel 11. WRBL is on 15(uhf). WLTZ is on 35. WXTX is on 49.

Not sure if it will compare but with a 4221 I picked up Channel 9 analog pretty clear. So it might be possible to pick up VHF on the 4228. Hower that was in columbus.

Yeah, I've been reading and I think I'm going to be able to pick up some VHF with the 4228. Hopefully I'll get it mounted outside this week since the attic is too small at my new/old house. I'll report my findings...

I live about halfway between Columbus and Macon. I only had a CM 4228 but wanted to be able to pick up WMAZ (Digital 4.1) in Macon so I looked around and decided on adding an AntennaCraft CS600 VHF antenna. Here is a link to the one I purchased: www.solidsignal.com/prod_display.asp?prod=CS600It was fairly inexpensive, easy to add to my mount and now I get the VHF channels great. I combined the leads and ran one cable into the UHF/Combined input on my CM 7777 pre-amp.

Hopefully WMAZ will be going back to 13 Feb 17. Digital on Ch 2-6 are the worst channel positions to have (VHF-low).
WLGA should be moving from 31 to WTVM's old 47 slot Feb 17. So WTVM on CH. 11 will be a whole new ball game for folks existing setups.

Greetings ...
Using a Channel Master CM-7000 tuner and a classic Radio Shack UHF Bow-Tie antenna at certain points in the area of Troy University and CVCC in South Phenix City, I was able to pick up WSFA (NBC) and WAKA (CBS) out of Montgomery (when pointing antenna west), as well as WSB (ABC) and WUPA out of Atlanta (when pointing antenna north-northwest).
Sometime after February 17-18, I will come back out to Troy-CVCC and see what I can pick up then.

Greetings ... WSFA TV-12, currently transmitting digitally on UHF-14, will go back to VHF-12 after June 12th. They are applying for the right to transmit digitally on VHF-12 at 31-kilowatts, based on their tower height of about 1975-ft. Source of informationThanx-A-Lot, Franko-Video-09
