i have read the info on antenna but am still boggled. what type might i need (fortson 31808, river rd/hwy 315). our rabbit ear reception is lacking, esp GPTV station. what type and recommendations for outdoor antenna can i get? -are antenna uhf and vhf? or do you attach a uhf to a vhf or vise versa? (i am a neophyte) -do i need a rotator thing? is it very necessary? -do i have to mount it on the very top of the house or can i mount it below the peak (i really don't want ot see it from the front of the house if possible) -what about antenna in the attic - too restricted and not rotatable -many more but i'll start there. thanks soooooo oooooo much!

Some are one or the other, some are both combined. 2. Depends on where you are in relation to the towers and what you want to get. Ex: I really only care about the big 4 networks and I can get them all pointing my antenna in one direction. I miss out on some other stations since i'm pointing away from those but i don't mind. 3. Again, depends. The higher the better usually. I would say just try things out. If you can get what you want in a certain position then everything is good. 4. You may see a trend here . Depends, If it's easy to do, I say try it. If it works then you don't have the antenna outside. As for a particular antenna, I always recommend the Channel Master 4221. It's a UHF directional antenna. I would also recommend mounting on the roof. I've always found the chimney mount works well.
