After listening to my wife complain so much, I decided to post a question about a peculiarity I only find with WTVM. Their HD shows, like Lost, seem to have a voice track that is much lower than necessary. You turn it up, only to have an action moment blow you out of your seat. I only seem to have this problem with WTVM HD shows.
I am currently going lo-fi using only the speakers in my TV....so that may be my problem. Just don't know if I can convince the wife to let my buy a decent receiver. I was thinking that maybe a good receiver will let me raise the volume on the center channel and lower the volume on the left/right.

I haven't really noticed anything with the voice being low but I'll try to pay attention to it when I watch Lost thrusday.

Thanks for checking into this. This might be something that is local to Mediacom. I am stuck with them based on my location in Midland.
On a side note, I have noticed that Mediacom has quietly introduced more HD channels into their lineup. Every once in a while I check, through the HD-DVR, their HD offerings to see if they have added any new channels. I have to keep a "favorites" list so I can flip through channels I actually receive and skip those I don't. Anyway, I notice that they now offer WLTZ's (NBC) digital broadcast, and TNT's. Not sure when those were made available. Mediacom is now, finally, offering all major local channels through their HD tier. This brings their HD channel total to a whopping 15!!! <sarcasm>
One more question....Does anyone know if Mediacom is planning on upgrading their HD-DVR's. This Motorola HD-DVR that I use has the worst interface. I have a replayTV that I bought about 6 years ago, and I still like using it more even with the fact that it is so outdated.
