You may be interested in the results of the first round of DTV channel elections. Stations were given the opportunity to select a "final" DTV channel, for use after the analog signal is turned off.
WTVM (TV 9 / DT 47) will move to channel 9 WRBL (TV 3 / DT 15) will stay on channel 15 WXTX (TV 54 / DT 49) will stay on channel 49 WLTZ (TV 38 / DT 35) will stay on channel 35 WJSP (TV 28 / DT 23) will move to channel 28 WSWS (TV 66 / DT 31) will wait for the second round to make a decision
Nearby, some interesting decisions: WFXL Albany (TV 31/DT 12) will stay on channel 12, thereby gaining a VHF channel WXIA Atlanta (TV 11/DT 10) will stay on channel 10 WGTV Athens (TV 8/DT 12) will move to channel 8
It appears to be split on whether UHF stations will move back to their analog channel, though most will stay on their new channels.
Most (but not all) stations in the upper VHF band (7-13) are keeping channels there (lower power requirements), but nearly all lower VHF channels (2-6) are being vacated (too interference prone and requiring a large antenna).

Just thought I'd update this thread with news that WLGA-DT (the former WSWS-DT) has elected to go with digital channel #47 once February 17, 2009 comes along.
Unfortunately for me, and maybe a few other folks on this board, WLGA-DT's signal coverage area on #47 will be quite a bit smaller from the digital coverage that #31 will provide once they go full power on it.
