As an HD user for about 6 years, the one thing I was most frustrated with was watching a ball game or a race in HD only to have the picture switched over to 4:3 analog so the station could place their local map indicating a severe weather watch/alert.
As of today, I noticed WTVM has apparently upgraded their equipment that now the map is overlayed with the HD signal.
Thank you WTVM!

Very good news indeed! That is a huge complaint of mine as well.

I've already shot off a letter of thanks to Lee Brantley about this.
Yes, it was very nice being able to watch World News in HD and WTVM's weather warning scrolling across the screen at the same time.
I'm hoping this could be the precursor to them having local HD programming.

This is great news. Since they are together I asked if the same was true for WXTX but was told they don't have the capability yet. Something about how the signal is controlled by Fox they can't break it down and add the graphics. That capability will be coming later though they say.
They did say the HD graphics for WTVM is a precursor for the upcoming upgrade to HD News.
