I'm glad to hear about WRBL-DT (though I can receive a CBS OTA, it's not DD5.1 capable)... however, I may know a little something about WLGA-DT. WLGA-DT filed a application for an extension with the FCC to continue broadcasting at lower power. They said it was because of "financial" reasons, and one other reason that was confidential, and was not listed on the FCC site. The approval was pending, and I don't know how long of an extension they were asking for, and I've been trying to get to the application this afternoon, but it's not coming in for some reason... but I thought I would mention it. ~Alan

Are they broadcasting from the Cusseta GA. tower now or still the Alabama tower?

Are you sure they are still on the Alabama tower? Because for some time now, WLGA has come in crystal clear for me. Before the picture was very grainy and unwatchable. The change for me occurred a couple months ago. I thought they were on the cusetta tower now.

I think the analog is from the Cusetta tower and the digital is from the Alabama tower. The analog is much better than it used to be and I can't get the digital signal.

On a side note, atmospheric conditons were very good tonight from Crawford County for getting Columbus stations. I was able to see the Falcons on Columbus's 3 and Dothan's 4 and Thomasville's 6. Dothan and Thomasville both have UPN (wrestling on tonight) side channels. 9, 38, and 54 were also coming in. Channel 12 from Montgomery was also booming tonight.

Yep, analog is in cusseta. I get it very good analog. I've never picked up their digital since it's in AL and i'm pointing my antenna the opposite direction.

Got this from WTMV today
WTVM analog (Channel 9) will be off the air this Wednesday night/Thursday morning from approximately 12 mid-night until 5 AM. The top beacon circuit on the tower has a problem which has to be repaired. WTVM analog (Channel 9) will also be off this Saturday and Sunday (December 9th and 10th) from approximately Noon until 7 PM. This is due to tower work being done in the antenna area. We are required by Federal Law to cease transmissions while workers are in the area of the antenna. This work is part of the tower structural upgrade necessary in order to move the WTVM digital antenna up to the 1000' level on the tall tower. This antenna work is hoped to be completed by the end of January at which time the WTVM digital signal coverage area will improve.

Also be aware that during the time period that WTVM is off air, WRBL should be lowering their transmitter power for safety reasons also.

Talked to WLGA today and they said they could possibly have their upgrade complete sometime near the end of the year.
Also talked to WLTZ and their engineer wants to add DD5.1 but the station won't let him spend the money to do so.

Last November, a note posted on GPTV's (GPB.org) webpage stated that GPTV should be up and running with their digital channels this Spring. Since Spring's almost here and gone, I E-Mailed GPB to find out some information, and got a reply.
The person with whom I have been discussing GPTV's future digital channels has stated that the note is out of date, and they are now 6-12 months behind schedule. I have also found out that he suspects that WJSP might be up to full-power before WABW-DT or WACS-DT... unfortunately, I have no information as to when that will be... but the 6-12 months gives us an idea for at least some sort of power...

I sent WLGA an email about a month ago and I never got a response, but Mike seems to get better results with getting the engineers at the stations to respond.
